Budapest,Hungary – Paris St-Germain retained their Champions League title with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Arsenal after a cagey 1-1 draw in Saturday’s final at the Puskas Arena.
Arsenal made the perfect start when Kai Havertz fired them ahead in the 6th minute, lashing a rising shot past PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
It looked like PSG would find no way through Europe’s meanest defence, but Ousmane Dembele levelled from the penalty spot in the 65th minute after Cristhian Mosquera fouled Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

A scrappy period of extra time failed to separate the sides, forcing penalties. PSG held their nerve from the spot, and Arsenal’s Gabriel blazed his kick over the crossbar to hand the French champions a 4-3 win.
The result made PSG only the second club in the Champions League era to win the trophy in successive seasons.
