Ndekye,Rubirizi – Residents of Kikuba in Ndekye Town Council, Rubirizi District, have expressed gratitude to Bunyaruguru MP-elect Hon. Cadet Benjamin for supporting improved hygiene in their area.
Their remarks follow his partnership with National Water and Sewerage Corporation to secure a clean water project for the area, valued at over Shs12 million.
Hon. Cadet Benjamin, who pledged to extend clean water to the area during the last election campaign, has fulfilled his promise by contributing half of the required funds. Residents also mobilized and contributed towards the project.

National Water and Sewerage Corporation, which has extended clean water to most parts of the country in recent years, has already started work in the area after covering the remaining balance. Residents say the project will boost business and save lives, noting that “water is life.”
Speaking to our reporter, Hon. Cadet Benjamin, who is awaiting the 13th May swearing-in ceremony, said he is ready to support community development projects and address long-standing challenges that hinder quality service delivery and feedback from the electorate.
Kikuba LC1 Chairman Mr. Magara and Rubirizi Town Council Mayor John Magezi thanked Hon. Cadet Benjamin for his efforts in developing the community economically, socially, and politically.
One resident said she is relieved because she was tired of sending her children long distances to fetch contaminated water. She expressed hope that Bunyaruguru will benefit greatly from Hon. Cadet Benjamin.
End.
