MBARARA CITY – A section of Boda Boda riders from Nyakayojo and Nyamitanga have reused to vote for their new leaders.
The boda boda fraternity in Mbarara city were voting for their division leadership in the two divisions of Mbarara city south and North.
The riders who converged at Rudicorp playground accused the city leadership of failing to organize neutral grounds for the election thus biasing it.
Majidu Luganda, the Chairman Katete Ward says they requested the city to consider having the election in Ruti as the neutral area between Nyamitanga and Nyakayojo but they refused.
He said that a rider from Rwakishakizi and Kichwamba stages spends alot on fuel to ride to kakoba to vote yet others just keep at their stages working.
He said the City North leadership is not balanced without the two areas arguing that the division leadership is made of riders from Kakoba.
Tayebwa Sam, Chairperson Nyarubungo stage says they petition the city leadership to listen to their grievances noting that they want the leadership of Mbarara City South balanced with three leaders elected from each former division.
