MITOOMA – The Police in Mitooma district have 3 suspects in custody for allegedly murdering a 56 year Old man.
The suspects are Kaheru Seiz 62 years, Twinamatsiko Ivan 23 years and Bamanya John 18 years all residents of Ntungamo village, Rwanza Parish, Rurehe Sub county in Mitooma district who allegedly stabbed Bimanywoha Mathias aka Matia 56 years from the same area in the night of 16th April 2024.
Its reported that the deceased was from his work commonly known as Buganda and he reached at Akabungo village at the bar of Kyarimpa Jesca where he bought waragi but told the bar owner that the mentioned suspects were following him thinking that he has money that his life was in danger. Then Jesca parked waragi for the deceased and he left the bae only to her surprise on 17th morning, to receive information that Mathias was found murdered.
Police was notified , a team of homicide and soco visited the scene, recorded statements of identified witnesses including Jescs and the body of the deceased was taken to Kitagata general hospital for postmortem.
It was found out that the deceased had been away from the village for some good time for work, he was paid and he called home that he was coming back.
At the scene, a bottle containing waragi was recovered that collaborated Jesca’s statement and the body had fresh wounds of stabbing around the forehead with all the valuables robbed and all pockets of the trouser turned out.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Martial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to our reporter stressing that inquiries into the matter are still at hand.
