NTUNGAMO, UGANDA – The Private Secretary to the First Lady, Seth Rukurungu, has commended youths in Ntungamo District and neighbouring areas for their strong participation in mobilizing support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Rukurungu urged them to continue supporting President Yoweri Museveni, citing the NRM government’s efforts to empower youth through various wealth creation programs across the country.
This call was echoed during the launch of the Tubirindegye Campaign at Rugarama Archdeaconry on Monday. The campaign, whose name loosely translates as “let’s protect them well” or “let’s keep them safe,” was initiated by Aijuka Rodgers, director of Free and Rich Uganda Ntungamo, to highlight the achievements of the NRM government since 1986.

Rukurungu said the government plans to intensify job creation by establishing more industries, and he encouraged all Ugandans to vote overwhelmingly for the NRM in the upcoming polls. He also praised Aijuka Rodgers for spearheading efforts to publicize the party’s achievements.
Aijuka Rodgers, Chief Coordinator of the Tubirindegye Campaign, cautioned youths against being swayed by divisive identity politics and urged them to support President Museveni, whom he described as an exemplary and visionary leader.
Mugizi Ephraim, Chairperson NRM Rugarama Main Sub-county, also commended the First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni, for initiating the Tubirindegye Campaign, expressing confidence that it would bolster NRM support in the region.
Saidat Muhereza, district lady councilor for Rugarama Main Sub-county, emphasized that maintaining peace should be the youth’s first priority, and urged them to utilize the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds to rise out of poverty.
Participants at the launch reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the NRM’s core values and pledged massive support for President Museveni and all NRM candidates in Ntungamo and neighbouring districts.
