BUSHENYI – Its yet another great experience for the people of Igara West as the constituency Parliamentary race continues to attract more great names including former presidential aspirant, former MPs, minister and a prominent lawyer.
This website has molely confirmed that though we are yet to reveal to you the NRM Primary nomination date but atleast 10 candidates have already shown interest to unseat the current MP Hon Mbwatekamwa Gaffa who holds NRM constituency chairmanship.
We could not bring details about all the candidates but we have identified some great names that are now dominating discussions and rumours in the constituency.
One is Counsel Amanya Cohen Kyampene who hails from Kabale, Kakanju Sub – county who works with Kenya Law Society. He has already hit the ground promising a change in the constituency.
Another aspirant is Katushemererwe Brenda who comes from Ndaragi in Kakanju sub county and her name is well known since she was a presidential aspirant in 2021. She comes with Pan Africanism culture and talent development.
We could not forget to bring to you the veteran politician Proffessor Tarsis Kabwegyere who lost narrowly to Hon Mbwatekamwa in the last elections. He has already showed that he cannot give up so probably he will be on ballot.
Ohhh, another great news is that the former MP also Minister Local government Hon Rapheal Magezi is also on the ballot and ready to look for support though in the last general elections he didnot stand.
Remember, the seat is currently pocketed by Hon Gaffa Mbwatekamwa but we have not yet confirmed his stand and we hope to get details about his candidacy status very soon.
