Bushenyi, Uganda – Aspiring Councilor Aggrey Mbekize Kyampene has urged voters in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality’s Central Division to reject candidates based on religious affiliation or tribal background.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, following a radio appearance, Kyampene emphasized the need for voters to focus on a candidate’s ability to deliver quality services.
Kyampene, who is contesting for the LCV Central Division Council seat, highlighted Bushenyi’s rapid development and stressed that religious denominations should not be a factor in choosing leaders.

He also strongly condemned the use of tribalism in election campaigns, stating, “Every tribe can have a good leader. As Bushenyi, we are above that level of backwardness to vote for someone based on tribe.”
Central Division comprises six wards: Bunyarigi, Ruharo, Kyeitembe, Ward 2, Central, and Ryamabengwa. Kyampene’s campaign platform focuses on empowering residents through modern farming techniques.
He plans to educate the community on maximizing productivity from small landholdings, thereby tackling poverty. He further encourages residents to utilize the Parish Development Model (PDM) funds to start income-generating projects such as piggery, poultry, and mushroom farming.
Kyampene, a resident of Ryamabengwa Cell/Ward, is committed to improving the lives of his constituents through sustainable economic development initiatives.
End.
