Buhweju, Uganda – Youth leaders from Buhweju District have launched a fervent appeal to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, endorsing Oyes Byamukama Annet Nnamarra as their sole candidate for the 2026 Woman Member of Parliament election.
In a letter addressed to the President, the youths described Byamukama, affectionately known as “Omuteganda,” as a transformative figure who has spearheaded numerous development initiatives in the district.
The youths cite Byamukama’s establishment of the Buhweju Community Transformation Initiatives Limited (BCTI) as a key driver of progress.

BCTI, operating under the pillars of education, income generation, and networking (“Emikago”), has implemented impactful programs focusing on five key “economies”: pig farming, sports, knowledge, entertainment, and the broader real economy. The piggery project, in particular, has provided piglets to young people with limited land resources.
Byamukama’s initiatives have extended beyond BCTI, encompassing support for religious leaders, schools, churches, local artists, and the attraction of investors, including a new tea factory. She has also established a model farm for training purposes, provided scholarships, organized training sessions, and fostered wealth creation groups.
The letter emphasizes the significant role Byamukama has played in inspiring innovation and economic growth amongst the youth, stating that her work has “raised our hopes as young people.”
The youths’ unwavering support culminates in their declaration of Byamukama as their sole candidate and a plea for the President’s backing. They vow a dedicated campaign to ensure her victory in the upcoming election.
End.
