Rubirizi, Uganda – Former Bunyaruguru County MP Cadet Benjamin Buturo called on Christians to foster unity within their families, love God, work hard, and combat poverty and domestic violence to improve their homes.
Buturo made these remarks on Saturday, April 26, 2025, while attending a fundraising drive for the Kicwamba SDA Church in Kicwamba Sub-County, Rubirizi District.
Expressing his interest in reclaiming the Bunyaruguru County parliamentary seat, Buturo condemned suicide, particularly among youth, as well as domestic violence and mob justice, citing them as hindrances to community development. He contributed over 900,000 shillings to the fundraising drive.
Kicwamba SDA Church elder Julius Mukundane thanked attendees for their contributions toward the church’s construction, emphasizing the shared responsibility in building God’s temple.

Church founder Ketty Muramaji echoed this sentiment, urging Christians to participate actively for divine blessings.
Leading the service, Pastor Asaph Kururajire, head of SDA churches in Katerera District, called on Christians to live holy lives, respect one another, and fully participate in the church’s construction to gain God’s favor.
The fundraising drive collected over 3.5 million shillings.
End.
