KIGEZI – The Territorial Police in Rukiga has registered death by electrocution incident that claimed life of a 40 year old Godfrey Mbalire an electrician a resident of Bukwiri cell, Bukwiri town council, Butembe sub county in Kyankwanzi district.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the 29/03/2024 at around 1:30 Pm at Luhonwa cell Butare ward Muhanga Town council, Rukiga district in the home of Mansa James a business man.
It’s alleged that on 29/03/2024, while the deceased was repairing electricity at Mansa James’ place, it so happened that power went off prompting the deceased to first remove the gloves and started using naked hands.
After sometime power came back without his knowledge, he continued using naked hands and consequently he was seriously electrocuted and his coworker called the family members who were around and they took him to Rotom health centre for further management, where he was pronounced dead a few moments later.
Police was notified by Gerald Twinomugisha a son to James Mansa, scene was visited, processed and documented by a team led by the Dpc, some relevant statements recorded from eye witnesses, autopsy was done and the body handed over to the relatives for decent burial.
