Bushenyi, Uganda – Police in Bushenyi are investigating the mysterious death of an unidentified female infant whose body was found abandoned in Kalinju forest.
The infant’s body, wrapped in a white bedsheet, was discovered by Twinamatsiko Aggrey, a UPDF officer, while patrolling the forest on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.
The police were immediately notified, and a team of detectives, Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), and a canine unit responded to the scene. Unfortunately, the police sniffer dog lost track after 100 meters.
The body was taken to Kitagata Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased was a newly born female, and inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
