NEWS – Police in Kisoro district are investigating circumstances under the body of a 56 year old man was found hanging in a tree.
The deceased is Kabonye Girigori 56 years Old mufumbira a resident of Gakarwe Village, Sooko Parish, Muramba Sub County in Kisoro district.
Its alleged that on 30th September 2024 at around noon time while one of the residents identified as Nyirantungane was passing in the road, he saw the body of Girigori hanging in a tree and she made an alarm that attracted other residents who tried to cut the rope thinking that he was still alive but it was too late since he had already breathed his last.
Police were informed, visited and documented the scene and the body was examined on site. Its further alleged that the deceased had made previous attempts of committing suicide, was a drunkard and staying alone.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson Asp Elly Maate confirmed this incident and stresses that inquiries into the matter are still at hand.
