BUSHENYI – Some of the passengers who used to board taxis on Ishaka town streets were left confused as authorities directed all passenger-carrying vehicles to use the newly renovated Ishaka taxi park.
Arthur Mucunguzi, the Bushenyi Ishaka taxi drivers Chairperson told our reporter that operations of taxis on Ishaka- Mbarara road, Ishaka- Kasese road as well as Ishaka- Kagamba road as taxi and motorists were removed and taken to Ishaka Taxi Park which paralyzed transport movements.
He said that any motorist caught violating their decisions will be dealt with.
Ishaka Division Chairman, Deus Mukyenga said the division believes the taxi Park will generate revenue for the Municipality as well as boost the business community in Ishaka town.
Speaking to our reporter, some of the taxi drivers welcomed the idea saying this would help them avoid violating traffic rules while fighting for customers.
