RUBIRIZI – Rubirizi district Woman Member Of Parliament Hon Kesande Grace Bataringaya has donated sorted items to victims affected by heavy rains in the district.
The heavy rainfall characterised by hailstorms and strong winds affected residents of Buhingo 3, Buhingo 2, Rumuri, Kyankwanzi, Kicwamba and Kyambura.
As a way of comforting the affected families, Honourable Kesande Grace visited them before accessing the situation and delivering some items to help them keep moving on besides the hard situation they are going through.
She delivered household items such as saucepans, plastic chairs among others. In other items donated to locals were tents and water harvest small tanks especially meant to benefit the elderly and other vulnerable groups of people and promised to cooperate with the district leadership to seek aid from the Prime Minister’s office and Ministry of relief and disaster preparedness.
Speaking after receiving the donated items, Mr Jafari Ngabirano Chairman LC1 Buhingo LC3 thanked Honourable Grace for being a responsible leader who always supports the community in times of need thus calling upon other stakeholders and Non Government Organisations to comd on board and support them.
