KASAANA – Three people are in Police custody in Sheema district for allegedly murdering a 57 year Old man.
The deceased is Biryomumisho Ezekiel a resident of Nyamushebeya cell, Kyihara Parish, Kasaana Sub County in Sheema district who was allegedly murdered at an unknown time in the night of 15th July 2024.
The detained suspects are Aturinda Stuart 34 years (son to the deceased), Akankwasa Annet ( wife to the deceased) and Nuwagira Obed all residents of Nyamushebeya cell, Kiyagara Parish, Kasaana Sub County in Sheema district.
Its alleged that the family has been having wrangles over a piece of land which the deceased wanted to sell and pay loan but the family refused him to do so. One of the sons (suspect) who stays in Ntungamo had issues with his father over where to construct a house, he is said to have come last evening and is suspected to be behind the death of his father who was found dead in a neighbour’s coffee plantation.
A case of suspected murder was reported at Kasaana Police station, scene visited by a team of detectives, Canine and Soco and the body of the deceased was taken to Kitagata General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to our reporter stressing that inquries to retrieve the postmortem report and establish the exact cause of death.
