BUSHENYI – Police in Bushenyi district are hunting for a woman and dumped an approximately one year old boy in a pit latrine at Kabirisi Road, Cell B, Town Ward, Ishaka Division in Bushenyi district. Both the suspect and victim/deceased are unknown.
Naturinda Novence councilor Town Ward in Ishaka Division on 20th June at around 5pm alleges that unknown lady came and asked residents of a certain building belonging to commonly known as “Hajji” where she could go for a short call and she was holding a young baby in baby sholes but later she was seen disappearing holding baby sholes alone without the child.
Another man went there for a short call and when he came back he informed residents that there was a voice of a child crying from the latrine where he had urinated which alerted many people who informed the police that immediately responded with fire brigade and rescue efforts started but the child was removed when already dead.The body was taken to KIU teaching hospital for postmortem examination.
By press time, the search for the mother and father of the deceased was ongoing, according to the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime.
