This initiative aims to boost household and community transformation through sustainable fish farming.
The machines have been distributed to five archdeaconries within the five catchment districts of Buhweju, Mitooma, Sheema, Bushenyi, and Rubirizi. The machines will be installed in the following locations: Kabwohe at Ankole Western University, Greater Bushenyi at All Saints Greater Bushenyi Archdeaconry Headquarters, Mitooma Archdeaconry at Mitooma Archdeaconry Headquarters, Rugando Archdeaconry at Mwongyera Parish Headquarters, and Nsiika Archdeaconry at Nsiika Archdeaconry Headquarters.
The Diocese of West Ankole is one of the 10 dioceses benefiting from this project, which aims to support community-based fish feed production and provide high-quality feeds to farmers at a subsidized rate. The project is a joint initiative of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Government of Uganda (GOU), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The machines are under the management of the Diocese Bishop’s Office, in the Department of Household and Community Transformation.
