Rubirizi,Uganda – The Archdeacon of Ndekye Archdeaconry, the Venerable Canon Rev. Yorokamu Tayebwa, has urged couples to unite for family development and to ensure their children attain quality education, saying teamwork, love, trust, unity and forgiveness are the key to success in families.
Ven. Tayebwa made the remarks on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, while addressing Christians at All Saints Town Church in Ndekye Town, Rubirizi District, during the installation of a new church leader and handover of instruments of power to Mr. Mbeine Enock.
Rev. Tayebwa noted that family development can only be achieved when couples cooperate, share ideas and plan together. He said some families have failed to progress because of disunity, mistrust and lack of joint planning.

“A home succeeds when the husband and wife pull in the same direction, work together and save together,” he said.
He encouraged parents to give their children moral and spiritual guidance by taking them to church and nurturing them in Christian values. He warned against domestic violence, alcoholism and extravagance which he said destroy many families, and called for love, forgiveness and hard work as pillars of a stable home.
In her sermon, Mrs. Ruth Tayebwa, who led the church service, warned couples and residents against abandoning homes in the name of evangelism, decrying domestic conflicts caused by neglecting family duties which fuel poverty.
She said anger, poverty and misunderstandings have entered many homes, leading to lack of trust and constant fights, which has affected the education of children.
She noted that it is time for couples to unite in raising their children, showing love, forgiveness and returning to God, so that families can develop and cases of domestic disputes in the community can be reduced.
She further condemned men who leave their wives at home to cohabit with other women, saying this has brought conflicts, poverty and misunderstandings in families. She asked parents to stop anger and stay together as husband and wife while planning for the development of their homes.
She emphasized that true evangelism starts at home – when there is peace, love and unity in the family, then the gospel can spread to the community.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Mbabazi Jolly, the LC1 Chairperson for Ndekye 3, thanked God for the gift of life, good health, children and for His protection throughout her journey including her recent election victory.
While testifying during the church service, Ms. Mbabazi urged Christians to trust God, saying thanking God is a very important act and there is no loss in giving thanks to Him.
She noted that God has been faithful in her life, keeping her safe, and stated that every believer should learn to appreciate God for His mercies. She urged Christians not to lose hope in difficult times but to surrender their lives to God, trust Him completely and remain steadfast in faith in order to receive blessings, peace and success.
