RUBIRIZI — Hon. Cadet Benjamin, Member of Parliament for Bunyaruguru County, has engaged health workers in Rubirizi District in a dialogue aimed at addressing health challenges and improving customer care in public health facilities.
The meeting was held at Rugazi Health Centre IV in Nyakasharu, Bunyaruguru Constituency. It provided a platform for health workers to share challenges they face while serving the community and to discuss ways of improving service delivery.
Hon. Cadet urged the health workers to maintain professionalism, respect, and compassion while handling patients. He emphasized that well-treated patients recover faster and that quality service delivery is key to better health outcomes.

He said the dialogue was intended to gather firsthand information that will help government and local leaders identify gaps in the health sector and prioritize areas that need improvement.
Hon. Cadet commended the health workers for their commitment to saving lives. He pledged to present their concerns to government for possible intervention and to follow up to ensure improved health service delivery in Rubirizi.
Health workers at the meeting raised concerns including staff shortages, inadequate medical supplies, poor infrastructure, and high patient numbers.
Dr. Nuwamanya Primu, the In-charge of Rugazi HC IV, said Hon. Cadet’s decision to visit and listen to them shows he is a responsible leader who cares about the wellbeing of the people. He asked the MP to continue advocating for the facility and to lobby government so that Rugazi HC IV is upgraded to district hospital status.
Musoke Jackline, Head of Midwifery and Maternity Ward, and Nurse Ashaba Suzan, Head of Nursing at Rugazi HC IV, recommended Hon. Cadet to act as a health centre ambassador to help lobby for more support. They thanked him for providing beds and mattresses to health facilities across the district and highlighted the need for more support in the maternity ward to improve maternal and newborn care.
Health workers welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important platform that allows their voices to be heard in government planning and decision making.
