RUBIRIZI – Officials from Uganda National Bureau of Statistics have flagged off the dispatch of Census Materials to Sub Counties and Town Councils in Rubirizi district ahead of the National Population and Housing Census 2024.
On Saturday at Rubirizi District Headquarters, the Census Materials including Tablets, Aprons, Power Banks and Chargers, which will be operated by Census enumerators and Parish supervisors were sent to their respective destinations.
Flagging off the materials, the Rubirizi District Uganda National Bureau of Statistics Coordinator Mrs. Asiimwe Rabeca said that the Materials were dispatched on time to give ample time to the people who will be operating them during the ongoing Census enumerators and Parish supervisors training.
According to district census Publicity officer for Rubirizi district Mr. Amon Muhereza, the counting process will commence on 10th May, 2024 to 19th May, 2024 thus appealing to citizens within the district to receive the enumerators in their homes and give true information to them.
The Resident District Commissioners Rubirizi District Mr. Bruno Kikanshemeza called upon the residents to give clear information for good planning of government.
He added that the National Population and Housing Census is done to assist the federal government to allocate sources and solutions, particularly in health care, education, and infrastructure, in a more fair and efficient fashion across different elements of the country.
