RUBIRIZI,UGANDA– Tension has gripped St. Thomas Vocational Secondary School Bururuma in Rubirizi District following the death of a Form Three student identified as Shillah.
Preliminary reports indicate the student died after allegedly being subjected to disciplinary action by school authorities over a letter found in her possession. The circumstances surrounding the punishment and the events leading to her death remain unclear and are expected to form part of ongoing investigations.
The incident sparked anger among students, who reportedly staged a strike demanding answers and accountability. Security personnel, including members of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, were deployed to the school to restore calm and prevent further unrest.

Police and school authorities have not released a full statement. More details are expected as investigations continue.
