Rubirizi, Uganda – Rubirizi District Police is investigating the alleged aggravated defilement of a four-year-old girl at St. Peter’s Nursery School in Kyeibumba 2 village, Buzenga parish, Ryeru sub-county.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on August 20, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM, when the victim, a resident of the village, was playing with other children. A 17-year-old male, identified only as Justus, who reportedly collects banana peelings for cattle, is alleged to have lured the child into a bedroom and committed the act.
Police have visited the scene of the alleged crime, conducted an appropriate response, and subjected the victim to a medical examination to corroborate the allegations.
Efforts to apprehend the juvenile suspect are ongoing.
The police will provide updates to the public on the investigation’s progress.
“We strongly condemn such heinous acts and urge parents and child caretakers to prioritize the safety and security of children,” said SP Tayebwa Apollo, Greater Bushenyi.
